However, as luck would have it, Bao Han was one entertainer with whom we have had the pleasure meeting. In our view, Bao Han is by far one of the most energetic, genuine, and responsive entertainer in the industry today. She is also very net savvy. We recently asked Bao Han to respond to some of the frequently asked questions (FAQs) about her. Once again, despite her very busy schedule, she replied to our questions via the internet.
As was in past correspondences, Vietscape decided to repost Bao Han's entire response in her own voice. Like her many performances, her written voice carry a unique and powerful message that can reach out and touch many fans in ways none of us at Vietscape can replicate.

When I think back of all the sleepless nights I spent in front of my computer just in order to work on the set of questionnaires I was asked to answer (by a bunch of really nice guys from San Jose, by the way....I believe that they call themselves VIETPAGE or something like that. SMILE!!), I remember that it had only been my biggest concern to tell the audience and of course my fans what a singer's job and life is all about!! I knew that since I decided to start my career in the Vietnamese music industry people would constantly watch me and my work, but it is no secret that the audience is also very curious about a singer's private life!! As a matter of fact, I was just waiting for an opportunity to come so I could tell my fans about Bao Han AND Phan Quoc Bao Han!!
VIETSCAPE gave me this chance and that's why I would like to thank anh Tu'y and Co. for the wonderful home page they did for me!!! They gave me the chance to show that Bao Han is actually not very different from anybody else... pretty much la'u ca' as a matter of fact! I also had the chance to meet them at the show at the Arena in July 97, which was such a wonderful and unforgettable experience. I really had the greatest time of my life, because I met the sweetest people there, who took such good care of me, and I plan to see everybody again on July 18, 1998, same time, same place.
AND....of course, the biggest THANK YOU goes to all my fans out there, who spent a lot of time in front of the computer themselves in order to write the sweetest emails!!! Like I said at the beginning, it was my only concern to tell them something about Bao Han, the singer, the girl from next door, the student, the daughter, the sister and FRIEND..... I just could have never imagined that because of that I would ever receive thousands of messages from people all over the world, who could relate to my own experiences, who would ask me for some advice and thank me for being their role model!!! It is an overwhelming, almost indescribable feeling whenever I read all these emails, and I always try to respond them all right away, but this is, of course,.... impossible!!!
Especially during times when I'm out of town (like right now as I'm writing this from the US and not from Vienna, my hometown) I feel very bad for those who have to wait for my response!! I'll definitely have more time as soon as I'll be back in Austria!!
I would also like to take this opportunity to answer those questions a lot of people have been asking me lately:
1) Why did Bao Han miss some Paris by Night
shows lately?
Those people who have read the interview on Vietscape will surely remember
that I talked about my life as a singer and as a student. I'm currently
still in school and the fact that I'm spending most of my time somewhere
out there in the world in order to perform, to record, to promote, etc.
makes it very hard for me to concentrate on my studies as much as I want
to. Besides, I live pretty far from the "capital of ***" which makes it
even harder to be everywhere at the same time!!! I just felt that it was
about time to finish something I decided to start years ago!!!!! Still,
there's something, which needs to be revealed now, even though I actually
wanted to save it for later, when "it" is really going to happen, but since
people are already wondering why I've missed several shows, it's better
to get rid of it now: I just signed a contract with an Austrian management
in order to get into the European music market. Since I've been in the
Vietnamese music industry for 6 years, I just wanted to try something new
and face different challenges, but there's nothing to worry about, because
I insisted on keeping my job at Thuy Nga, which means that I'll still be
on Paris by Night... as often as possible!!! The project in Europe just
started, which means that I can't tell anything about it now since it is
still too early. Of course Vietscape will be the first one to be informed
as soon as I get more information!!
Well, the next question I ask myself is: When's Bao Han ever gonna graduate?? FOLKS, I HAVE NO CLUE!
2) Is Bao Han sick or why is she soooooo skinny?
No, I'm not anorexic and neither am I HIV positive! I just preferred
to lose some weight and so I did!!! I am very sorry that a lot of people
actually got the wrong impression but I'm truly doing great and there's
nothing to worry about!! I decided to watch everything I was eating and
I can guarantee that I'm on a very healthy diet (I don't eat only apples.....the
truth is: I don't even like apples!!!). And when I decided to dye my hair
blond it wasn't my intention to be a "Wannabewhite". As a singer I have
fun in what I'm doing but I also think that it is very important to change
my looks and style once in a while, even though I know that I cannot please
everyone. "Chie^'c La' Mu`a DDo^ng" was supposed to be an Indian number, "Mo^.t
Kie^'p Phong Ba" is based on a Chinese idea and "Save Tonight" is all about
the Twist and having fun! Paris by Night 45 is going be shot soon and I
already changed my looks for the particular song I chose!!! But guess what... after
all I'm still very Vietnamese!
3) When is Bao Han's next album coming out?
I am currently working on it, but I have no idea when it's going to
be released!!! I'll surely inform Vietscape as soon as I'll find it out
myself!! There are actually a lot of other questions I've been asked in
all the wonderful emails and letters I've been receiving but I picked these
three since they've been asked the most. For those who still have been
waiting for my response (probably for months already) I just wanted to
apologize and let them know that I didn't forget or ignored their lovely
messages! I always take my time in order to read and enjoy every single
one and whenever I'm not too busy or maybe not sitting in a plane on the
way to somewhere I usually reply them. Words can't express how grateful
I am for all the sweetest things I've been told and as I'm writing this,
using a friend's computer I already know what I'm gonna get myself very
soon: A laptop plus modem so I'll be able to respond to all the cute messages
right away.... no matter where I'm gonna be!!
